WORK at the sale and shop early on Presale Day!

An event like this relies on volunteers to make it happen. We need help with all kinds of things from set up and tear down to inspecting items and helping customers during the sale. The bigger each sale gets, the more determined we are to produce a quality event. Now more than ever we need your help.

As a reward for your efforts, we have a special Worker Presale on Wed, September 24. Get first pick of the goods! Less crowded shopping, lighter checkout lines, private shopping with friends (old and new!) and first dibs on great deals!!!

We've scheduled this presale during the evening hours to allow working moms a chance to participate in the sale, too. Now you can work with us on Saturday or Sunday and enjoy the Wed evening Presale, too! We know it was hard when the Worker Presale started at 2pm. This time should also help SAHMs who need someone to watch the kids so they can shop! Get your spouse to come home a little early that day and come on down! Please note that you can arrive at ANY TIME in the 3-7pm range, you do not have to be the first in the door at 3pm. Don't worry if you can only come at 5pm, just come then! You will still be in there before the public and the other consignors. ;)

• All Consignors are automatically eligible workers (just use that log in).
• You do not need to be a consignor to work at the sale and shop early.
• Non-consignors need to register as a worker first.
• Sign up for a shift or remove yourself from a shift online.
• You will receive sale notices plus reminders about your shift.
• Come any time after 3pm, you can even shop during the Presales on Thursday! If you can't make the Wed presale but are not consigning, you can still get in before the public. Sign up to work and shop on Thursday evening!

Consignors:

Work 1 shift, 4 hours: earn 70% of your sales
OK, so there is no % bonus but you get to shop the sale 2 days before we open to the public and 1 day before non-working consignors! Shifts do fill up fast!

Work 2 shifts, 8 hours: earn 75% of your sales

Work 3 or more shifts: earn 80% of your sales

(You are welcome to sign up for more than 3 shifts, but pay benefits max out at 80%.)

Volunteer Registration

Consignors: Please log in with your consignor number and password so your shifts are linked to your consignor account. If you do not have access, you probably have not paid yet or have not been cleared. Email us if it has been more than 24 hours since you paid the fee and let us know you are anxious to sign up to work!

Non-Consignors: At the log in screen, choose the option towards the bottom to sign up as a Worker. There you will set up a Worker Account and password.

Work shifts are listed with job duties attached. So when you sign up, you will be choosing both your preferred time and the job you would like to do.

Some notes about job duties:

Sign up for the Setup or Teardown shift if you are willing to do some heavy lifting, carrying, building, and using power tools. Husbands are most appreciated on these shifts! Sending a husband counts as your work shift!

Grandmas are great too! Consider sending your mom to work a shift in your place if you cannot work yourself but you and your mom would like to shop EARLY!

We don't allow babies to accompany moms on their working shifts, with one exception. If you would love to work while slinging your newborn (or child under 12mos as long as that child would be content attached to mama), sign up for a shift as a Greeter. This job can easily be done with a baby on board and we will accommodate nursing/feeding breaks. This goes for other workers too, if your caregiver brings your baby, let us know you will be taking a nursing break so we can back you up if necessary. If you are NOT bringing a baby to work, please do not sign up for the Greeter position. There are a limited number of these shifts and we want to help new moms who want to work with us.

If you have great organizational skills, sign up as a Merchandiser.

If you are friendly and like to talk while you work, sign up as a Bagger. These people get to talk to customers at checkout while they pull tags off every item and bag things up.

Work shifts are set up online so people can pick their own jobs and times.

ALL Workers are invited to shop the 50% off stuff early!

The Workers Only Half Price Presale happens on Saturday night, Sept 27, 6-8pm. Public shopping ends at 5pm. We will clear all shoppers out by 5:30pm and reopen the doors at 6pm after we organize the merchandise and change the registers to reflect the 50% off discount mode. Your name must be on our list of signed up workers to get in the door. Passes may be issued, but the list is definite.

Volunteer Policy:

In order to achieve a high quality event, we rely on a sufficient number of volunteer workers. Pass It On requires that volunteers fulfill their obligation to work the shifts they sign up for. All workers must be on time and work their entire shift (unless released early by Pass It On sale owner) to reap the benefits.

If you find it necessary to cancel a work shift or reschedule your shift, please do so as soon as possible. You can remove yourself from a work shift and/or sign up for a new shift by logging in to the Volunteer Registration system. If an emergency arises and you need to cancel your commitment with us, please let us know as soon as possible. Call 503–516–1314 ASAP.

Workers who do not follow through with their commitment will be banned from volunteering at future sales, which means no shopping at future Worker Presales. If the worker who fails to show is a consignor, Pass It On will deduct 30% from their final earnings check. If you send a replacement, your privileges will stay intact. Extenuating circumstances may be considered (such as a death in the family) and the worker would be allowed to volunteer again, but the deduction still may be taken at the discretion of Pass It On management.

Please note that this policy has been created in order to maintain a high quality sale. We want to attract only those volunteers who are responsible and dependable. Please thoughtfully consider the commitment before you put your name down for a shift. Positions are limited, and you could be taking up a spot someone else would have gladly filled, but when you cancel at the last minute, we may not be able to find someone to fill your vacancy.
