WHY this event is a good thing...

Pass It On benefits local families in 3 different ways.

1. CONSIGNORS
Pass It On helps parents who have things to sell. Do you have clothes, toys, or furniture piled up in your garage? Are you tired of the hassle of having garage sales or selling on eBay? Do you earn too little selling your items at a consignment store? All you do for us is tag your items at the price you choose, drop them off, and wait for your check in the mail.

2. SHOPPERS
Pass It On helps parents who are tired of paying high retail prices for clothes their kids wear only a few times or toys they play with once by offering a room full of high quality gently used clothes and toys at way below retail prices.

We eliminate the guess work that goes into shopping seasonal retail sales, where you try to stock up on next year's seasonal clothes when you don't know for sure what size your child will be wearing then! Shop in the spring for that year’s spring outfits. You know your child's current size, and remember that you can return to our next sale in 6 months and shop for the next size or season. The same goes for toys. You can buy what your child is interested in now, and if he is done with it in 6 months or a year, bring it back to another Pass It On event and sell it!

3. CHARITIES
Pass It On helps Portland families in need by donating to local charities. Sellers have the option of donating anything that doesn't sell during our sale and we take care of it. At the end of the sale, all remaining items go to Northwest Children's Outreach, a faith-based non-profit organization in Hillsboro. They operate a warehouse which supplies over 75 charitable organizations within the Metro Portland tri-county area. They have a location in Vancouver, WA too. Things go from there right to people who need them.

NOTE: Anyone who does not want to donate their unsold items may pick them up at the end of the sale. You can even leave the tag on and submit it at our next sale (except for obvious seasonal clothing, you'd need to hold onto those for a year). We anticipate bigger audiences at future sales, and the shoppers are looking for different things each time. So what didn't sell this time might go early at the next event. You just have to store it and the whole point of this sale is to help you get rid of clutter, so think about donating!

BE A CONSIGNOR! WHY should I consign?

  • You set the prices and decide if it can sell at 50% off
  • You receive 70% (more if you work at the sale)
  • You decide if you want your unsold items donated
  • You get the tax write off for your donations
  • You only pay $10 to consign no matter how much you bring
  • You drop off your stuff and we do the rest
  • Your items will be viewed by thousands of shoppers
  • You get a pass for the Consignors Presale where you shop before the public (our way of saying Thanks!)
  • You pick up your unsold items right after the sale ends
  • Your check is mailed within 2 weeks of the end of the sale

Give us a try! The big question now is WHY NOT?

Our spring 2007 sale: this is the boys rack!

And this is the girls rack! Lots to choose from!

This is Kim at NW Children's Outreach after unloading our truck load of donations. After each sale we help clothe tons of kids and make life a little easier for many struggling families in the PDX area.
